RT1716WSC is Richtek’s programmable USB Type-C PD controller in an 8-ball WL-CSP (1.38x1.34mm) — for phones, tablets and notebooks that need a tiny TCPC interface to the application processor: it integrates the complete Type-C transceiver with Rp/Rd termination, attach/orientation detection, and the BMC physical layer for USB PD up to 100 W with power-role swap. Dual-role (DRP) operation, alternate-mode support, dead-battery support, programmable VCONN overcurrent protection, and a 25 µA typical attach-detection current that keeps standby drain negligible. PD 2.0/3.0, I2C interface to AP/EC. Selection advice: this is the TCPC-only PHY — the PD policy manager runs on the host processor, unlike integrated-policy parts such as the RT7202 on this site; for designs that also need the USB 2.0 data switch and IEC ESD in one chip, step up to the RT1718S.
