ICM-40609-D

TDK InvenSense

ICM-40609-D is a 6-axis MotionTracking IMU from TDK InvenSense in a 24-pin LGA (3 x 3 x 0.91 mm) — the drone member of this sensor group, built for flight controllers and other high-impact aerial platforms, and listed by TDK as Production. The selection point is the accelerometer ceiling: ranges of ±4/8/16/32 g, the only code in this group that reaches ±32 g, paired with gyroscope ranges of ±15.625 to ±2000 dps — aerobatic manoeuvres and hard-landing shocks saturate a ±16 g part, and this device is ranged for them. Verified figures include a 16-bit ADC, 2 KB FIFO, 6-axis current of 0.77 mA and sleep current of 11 µA at 1.8 V, 20,000 g shock tolerance, I2C at 1 MHz or SPI at 24 MHz interfaces, and VDD/VDDIO of 1.71–3.6 V across −40 °C to +85 °C. Note there is no I3C on this code — plan the sensor bus on I2C or SPI. Selection advice: choose the ICM-40609-D when the airframe's shock and manoeuvre profile demands the ±32 g range; for ground robotics or wearables the ±16 g codes are smaller and draw less. Parameters verified against TDK InvenSense datasheet DS-000330 (Rev. 1.2).
