MAX20816
Analog DevicesMAX20816 is a PMBus-compatible multiphase voltage regulator controller for the low-voltage, high-current rails of AI accelerators and advanced processors, in a 56-pin 7 mm by 7 mm TQFN package. Its dual-loop architecture commands up to 16 phases in total across two output rails, with the phase count per rail set over PMBus to match the main board, and it works with smart power stages that report their own telemetry back to the controller. Peak efficiency reaches 90.71 percent at 0.75 V output on the public evaluation data, helped by orthogonal current rebalancing that keeps phase currents shared during transients and a programmable phase firing order. The digital interface speaks PWMVID and AVSBus for dynamic voltage scaling, while PMBus telemetry covers input voltage, current and power, output power monitoring and power-stage temperature, backed by fault, command and data logging (a black-box recorder) plus GPIO indicators for overcurrent, overtemperature warning and VR-settled status. Protection includes input and bias undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection and password protection of configuration. Note that the complete documentation set is released under NDA; the parameters on this page come only from Analog Devices' public product information. Parameters verified against Analog Devices documentation.
