W25X40CLSNIG

Winbond

The W25X40CLSNIG is a 4M-bit (512K-byte) serial NOR flash in the narrow SOIC-8 150-mil package. The CL variant accepts a wide 2.3 V to 3.6 V supply, wider than the standard 3 V SpiFlash range, helping battery-backed and loosely regulated designs; it offers standard SPI with dual-output reads, uniform 4 KB sectors and the industrial temperature range. This earlier-generation device remains in production for long-tail demand: configuration and firmware storage in FPGAs, chipsets, consumer electronics and legacy industrial boards designed in with the W25X40CL years ago and still shipping today. For those products it is the safe like-for-like replacement that avoids firmware and layout changes. New designs should also evaluate Winbond's current-generation 4M-bit parts, but qualified production lines can keep sourcing this original code. Parameters verified against Winbond documentation.
