TCA9548ADGSR is the VSSOP-24 (DGS) variant of Texas Instruments' 8-channel I2C/SMBus switch — for multiplexing one I2C bus to eight downstream buses where the narrow VSSOP body fits the routing channel better than TSSOP or VQFN. The switch resolves the classic fixed-address conflict: sensors that cannot coexist on one bus each get their own channel, and the control register can enable any combination of channels simultaneously — with one limit: same-address devices must still be accessed one channel at a time, isolated per channel, because enabling their channels together recreates the address clash instead of clearing it. Three address pins allow up to eight TCA9548A devices on one bus, with voltage translation between 1.65 V and 5.5 V domains and a hardware reset input.
