ETA7014S2G

The ETA7014S2G is the SOT-23-6 ordering code for ETA's ETA7014, a high-side over-voltage protector that stands off up to 36 V at the input. Its integrated power MOSFET presents only 35 mOhm of on-resistance, so normal operation wastes little voltage or heat, while the protection path reacts to an input surge in under 0.1 us and disconnects the load before the spike reaches downstream circuitry. The trip point is programmable through the FB divider against a 1.26 V reference, and leaving FB floating gives a default 6.1 V overvoltage threshold suited to 5 V rails; short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection and an enable pin are built in, and the same device can be wired as a high-voltage switch. For products fed from wall adapters, car sockets or hot-plugged DC plugs, that combination replaces a discrete MOSFET, comparator and reference with one six-pin part and a divider. Selection advice: set the divider for the highest legitimate adapter voltage, not the nominal rail, so normal tolerance does not cause nuisance trips, and confirm the S2G code when ordering - the same die is also sold in DFN2x2-8 as ETA7014D2I, which is not footprint-compatible.
