The AT2659 from Zhongkewei is a low-noise amplifier for the L1 band of global navigation satellite systems, supplied in a compact six-pin DFN package. In a GNSS receiver, the first amplifier stage after the antenna largely sets the sensitivity of the whole front end, because its noise contribution cannot be recovered by later stages. A dedicated L1 LNA therefore lets navigation products work with weaker satellite signals and smaller antennas than a receiver front end without one, which matters in trackers, portable navigation devices, vehicle equipment and other products that must hold a position fix in obstructed or indoor-adjacent environments. The small DFN-6 footprint suits the tightly packed RF sections of such products, where the LNA belongs close to the antenna feed. Selection advice: this part is specifically an L1-band device, so it fits receivers designed around L1 GNSS reception; dual-band designs that also process other GNSS bands need a front-end plan for those bands as well rather than assuming one LNA covers them. Keep the RF layout disciplined, with the amplifier placed near the antenna connection and the input and output lines kept short and controlled, since layout quality decides how much of the amplifier's low-noise benefit survives into the finished product.
