API7721S-13 splits its two isolated channels in opposite directions (1 forward / 1 reverse), with channel A as the reverse channel - the configuration Diodes illustrates for an isolated CAN interface, where transmit data crosses one way and receive data returns on the second channel inside a single SO-8 (Type CJ2). That makes this the natural API772X code for bidirectional control links such as isolated UART or transceiver pairings, without spending a second isolator package. The narrow body is rated 3750VRMS per UL 1577 with >4mm creepage and clearance, 4242VPK transient isolation per VDE 60747-17, and 165mW maximum total dissipation at 5.5V. Electrical behaviour matches the family: up to 100Mbps, independent 2.5V to 5.5V rails on each side, 150kV/us minimum CMTI, 11ns typical propagation delay and 2.1mA per channel typical at 1Mbps, over -40 to +125C. Selection advice: choose the 7721 when the returning signal belongs on channel A by pin position; the 7722 mirrors the same 1/1 split with the reverse path on channel B, so pick by your board routing rather than treating them as interchangeable.
