MCP3421A0T-E/CH is the tape-and-reel SOT-23-6 ordering code for the Microchip Technology MCP3421 single-channel delta-sigma ADC: the current datasheet (DS22003E) decodes the string in its product identification system - T for tape and reel, E for the -40 °C to +125 °C range, CH for the SOT-23-6 package - and the A0 address option fixes the I2C address bits at 000, a 7-bit address of 0x68. It resolves 18 bits at 3.75 samples per second, or 16, 14 and 12 bits at 15, 60 and 240 SPS (the 18-bit data rate runs 2.75 minimum, 3.75 typical and 5.1 maximum SPS), holds integral nonlinearity to 10 ppm of full scale typical and 35 ppm maximum, references an internal 2.048 V source accurate to ±0.05 % with 15 ppm/°C drift, runs from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, draws 145 µA typical at 3.0 V (155 µA typical and 190 µA maximum at 5.0 V) and 0.1 µA typical in standby, with input offset of 15 µV typical and 40 µV maximum at unity gain. The selection point is slow, precise differential measurement in six pins: weigh scales, pressure and temperature transmitters and battery monitors get an 18-bit converter with its reference already inside. Selection advice: the address letter is part of the orderable code - A0 boards answer at 0x68, so multi-device I2C buses must mix address variants deliberately rather than fitting whatever reel is at hand.
