L6562ADTR

L6562ADTR is a transition-mode (critical-conduction) current-mode PFC controller from STMicroelectronics in an SO-8 package, supplied on tape and reel, for boost power-factor-correction front ends in adapters, lighting drivers and appliance supplies. The control set is the selection point: an internal reference accurate to 1 percent at 25 C, a totem-pole gate driver rated at -600/+800 mA, an on-chip filter on the current-sense pin and adjustable output overvoltage protection hold a clean sinusoidal input current without a large external parts count. Start-up current is just 30 uA typical, which eases standby-power budgets, and the device runs from a 10.5 to 22.5 V supply across -25 to +125 C in an industrial-grade, Ecopack2 package. Selection advice: order the A version by its full code - the older L6562DTR without the A suffix is NRND at ST, while this L6562ADTR is listed Active in ST's quality documentation; for through-hole assembly the same enhanced die is offered as the DIP-8 L6562AN.
