TLC555CDR
Texas InstrumentsTLC555CDR is the commercial-grade, large tape-and-reel SOIC-8 ordering code of the TI TLC555 CMOS timer. It is pin-compatible with the NE555, so it drops into established 555 oscillator, pulse-generation and delay designs, but the LinCMOS process cuts supply current to about 0.18 mA typical (250 uA headline) and dissipation to 1 mW typical at 5 V - a real saving wherever a legacy timer circuit runs from a battery or a thermally constrained rail. The supply range is 2 V to 15 V, maximum astable frequency reaches 2.1 MHz, and the output sinks 100 mA typical while sourcing 10 mA typical, enough to drive small loads and logic directly. Selection advice: the C grade is rated 0 C to +70 C only, so if the board must start or run below freezing, move to the industrial I-grade sibling instead of relying on behaviour outside the rating. The DR suffix fixes the SOIC-8 large-reel packing; confirm it against your placement setup so the ordered package matches the footprint on the board.
