Gainsil

The GS331-TR is Gainsil's tape-and-reel code for the GS331, a single precision voltage comparator in SOT-23-5, in the LM331/LMV331 functional class but specified over a much wider supply range: 2.0 V to 36 V from a single supply, or plus/minus 1.0 V to plus/minus 18 V split supplies. Typical input offset voltage is plus/minus 1 mV, input bias current is 25 nA typical, and supply current is 0.4 mA at 5 V, essentially independent of supply voltage. The input common-mode range includes ground and the differential input range equals the supply voltage, which simplifies threshold sensing on unregulated rails, and the open-collector output saturates at about 200 mV while sinking 4 mA, so the high level can be pulled up to whatever logic rail the system uses. Gainsil targets battery chargers, DC-DC modules, switching power supplies and motherboard supervision. Selection advice: because the output is open-collector, budget the pull-up resistor for both the required rise time and the sink current, and quote the full GS331-TR code - Gainsil also sells the unrelated zero-drift op-amp line under similar GS33x numbers, so a truncated part number can pull the wrong device family. Parameters verified against Gainsil documentation.
