ST3485EBDR
STMicroelectronicsThe ST3485EBDR is the tape-and-reel SOIC-8 code for the STMicroelectronics ST3485E, a 3.3 V half-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver. The B speed grade runs at up to 12 Mbps from a 3.0 V to 3.6 V supply, the receiver is fail-safe for open and idle buses, and the bus pins are protected against ESD strikes that destroy unprotected 485 ports in the field. It serves the large installed base of 3.3 V Modbus, metering, HVAC and building-automation nodes where the port must survive long cable runs and electrical noise without an external protection network. Selection advice: inside this family the letter after ST3485E sets the speed grade, so quote EB for the 12 Mbps version and do not let a slower EC code be substituted onto a high-rate bus; the DR suffix is simply the reel packing. Parameters verified against STMicroelectronics documentation.
