Renesas Electronics

The R9A08G046L46GBG#AC0 is the quad-core RZ/G3L microprocessor: four Arm Cortex-A55 cores at 1.2 GHz run the Linux application layer while a 200 MHz Cortex-M33 handles real-time control, in the same 368-ball LFBGA (17 mm x 17 mm, 0.65 mm pitch) as the dual-core code. Graphics and video match the rest of the G3L line — a Mali-G31 GPU at 600 MHz, H.264 encode and decode at 1080p30, and display output over MIPI DSI, LVDS or parallel — but the doubled CPU count is the point: concurrent protocol stacks, multiple display surfaces and edge analytics stop contending for the same two cores. Around the processors sit 512 KB of ECC system RAM, a 16-bit DDR4/LPDDR4-2133 controller with ECC, two TSN-capable Gigabit Ethernet ports, PCIe Gen2 x1, two USB 2.0 ports and three CAN FD channels. Deep standby is about 1 mW with fast Linux wake-up, and the device is pin-compatible with the RZ/G3SE family. Selection note: quote the L46 code when the workload genuinely parallelizes; for single-interface HMI panels the dual-core L26 delivers the same graphics and I/O set at a lower platform cost. Parameters verified against Renesas Electronics documentation.
