PCM5101APWR

Texas Instruments

PCM5101APWR is a Texas Instruments 32-bit, 384 kHz stereo audio DAC in a 20-pin TSSOP package, delivering 2.1 VRMS DirectPath output with 106 dB SNR from a single 3.3 V analog supply. Its advantage is a short audio bill of materials: an integrated high-performance PLL generates the system clock from the bit clock, so no master clock line is needed; the DirectPath output needs no DC-blocking capacitors and drives loads down to 1 kohm; and an intelligent muting system with soft ramp and analog mute gives 120 dB mute SNR with popless sample-rate changes. It accepts 16-, 24- and 32-bit PCM in I2S and left-justified formats, and hardware-pin configuration means no control-port firmware. Selection advice: order the A variant — this orderable is the active PCM5101A; the original non-A PCM5101 is not recommended for new designs, and the A suffix is the drop-in replacement. If you need higher SNR, the PCM5102A (112 dB) is the pin-compatible step up in the same family; if you need an automotive-qualified version, ask about the PCM5101A-Q1.
