MAX3232ESE+T

MAX3232ESE+T is an Analog Devices RS-232 transceiver in a SOIC-16 package: two drivers and two receivers on a single 3.0 V to 5.5 V supply, data rates to 120 kbps, and only four external 0.1 µF charge-pump capacitors between the logic-level UART and a true RS-232 port — the standard serial interface for industrial controllers, instruments, point-of-sale terminals and legacy EIA-232 equipment. The family is in PRODUCTION on ADI's listings and the ESE+ code is carried in the family's ordering table; the +T suffix is the tape-and-reel form of the narrow SOIC-16 (ESE) package. Selection advice: the MAX3232's value is running RS-232 levels from a 3.3 V logic supply, which the older 5 V-only MAX232 generation cannot do — but the capacitor value is part of the specification, so hold the 0.1 µF charge-pump capacitors in the BOM rather than substituting whatever is on the reel.
