LM2596S-ADJ
UMWLM2596S-ADJ is the UMW (UTD Semiconductor) adjustable version of the LM2596 step-down regulator in TO-263-5, listed word-for-word in the ordering information of the UMW datasheet (June 2025) alongside the maker’s fixed 3.3 V, 5 V and 12 V codes. UMW publishes no lifecycle grading for the part; the code stands in the maker’s current datasheet ordering table. The figures on this page were read from UMW’s own electrical characteristics table at build time: a feedback voltage of 1.23 V typical, an oscillator of 150 kHz typical with 117 kHz minimum and 183 kHz maximum limits, a saturation voltage of 1.16 V typical at 3 A, a current limit of 4.5 A typical, quiescent current of 5 mA typical, standby current of 80 µA typical in shutdown, and efficiency of 73 % at 12 V in with the output programmed to 3 V at 3 A, on an input range up to 40 V with a guaranteed 3 A output. The selection point is the adjustable rail: one feedback divider sets any output from about 1.2 V upward, for the odd voltages a fixed code cannot serve, in the surface-mount TO-263 body. Selection advice: LM2596-named parts from TI, onsemi, HGSEMI and UMW share a designation, not a datasheet — UMW’s oscillator limits and saturation figures above are its own, and the HGSEMI fixed 5 V code and the TI LM2596S-ADJ/NOPB in this catalog carry different tables again; qualify the UMW code against the UMW document and state the maker in the RFQ. Parameters verified against the UMW LM2596/LM2596HV datasheet (ordering information and electrical characteristics, June 2025).
