EG3112
EGmicroThe EG3112 from EGmicro is a half-bridge gate driver for MOSFET and IGBT power stages with a high-side capability of up to 600 V, supplied in an SOP-8 package. It takes logic-level control signals and drives both transistors of a half-bridge leg, the high-side device floating on the switching node and the low-side device referenced to ground, which is the core building block of brushless motor controllers, inverter stages, high-voltage buck converters and similar power electronics. Integrating that drive function in one eight-pin device removes the discrete level-shifting and drive circuitry a do-it-yourself solution needs, and keeps the two gate signals coordinated by design rather than by careful matching of separate components. The SOP-8 package is a deliberate practicality: it is inexpensive, easy to solder and inspect, and suits the cost-sensitive controller boards where this class of driver is volume business. Selection advice: choose the EG3112 when the power stage is a single half-bridge working within its 600 V class and the controller provides the two logic inputs the driver expects. Designs that need to drive several bridge legs should plan one driver per leg, and the gate-drive requirements of the chosen MOSFETs or IGBTs, in particular their gate charge, should be checked against the datasheet before the pairing is frozen.
