DS18B20(UMW)

DS18B20(UMW) is the UMW (UTD Semiconductor) build of the DS18B20 1-Wire digital thermometer in TO-92, as the part is listed by marketplaces; UMW’s own ordering table writes the device as UMW DS18B20 in the TO-92 package (bulk bag), alongside UMW DS18B20U in MSOP-8 and UMW DS18B20Z in SOP-8. The MSOP-8 code is a full ordering line of its own — UMW DS18B20U, tape and reel at 4,000 pieces — and this page covers it: UMW publishes one electrical table for the three packages, so the supply range, the accuracy bands and the conversion times below, and the standby current of 0.75 µA typical and 1 µA maximum from the same table, apply to the U code unchanged; only the package and the packing differ. The figures on this page are UMW’s own electrical table, and they are not the Maxim original’s: a supply of 2.5 V to 5.5 V (the Maxim device starts at 3.0 V), a thermometer error of ±0.4 °C from −10 °C to +85 °C and ±1.2 °C across the full −55 °C to +125 °C range (the Maxim figure is ±0.5 °C), and a 12-bit conversion completed in 400 ms maximum, with 50 ms, 100 ms and 200 ms at the 9-, 10- and 11-bit settings — the UMW conversion is the faster of the two, so timing budgets drawn from the other maker’s document do not transfer. The selection point is a second-source 1-Wire thermometer that runs from a 2.5 V rail and converts faster, for multi-point monitoring on cost-driven boards. Selection advice: because the accuracy band, the supply floor and the conversion time all differ from the Analog Devices/Maxim DS18B20 and DS18B20+ also listed in this catalog, qualify the UMW code on its own datasheet (April 2025) and state the maker in the RFQ — a same-name offer is not evidence of the same electrical table.
