4N35

onsemi

4N35 is onsemi’s single-channel phototransistor optocoupler in PDIP-6 — a GaAs infrared LED optically coupled to a silicon NPN phototransistor — for galvanic isolation between logic and high-voltage sides: MCU-to-mains interfaces, isolated feedback loops and PLC inputs. CTR is 100% minimum at IF = 10 mA / VCE = 10 V per the onsemi datasheet, with 5,000 Vrms input-output isolation and an 80 V BVCEO detector rating. Selection advice: CTR degrades with LED aging and temperature — design the LED drive current for end-of-life CTR (roughly half the datasheet minimum) rather than the headline number, or the isolated stage fails years into service. 4N36/4N37 are the same package with different CTR ranks; for faster edges use a logic-output optocoupler such as 6N137 instead of pushing a phototransistor coupler past ~10 kHz. Pin 6 exposes the phototransistor base — leave it unconnected unless you need the rarely used base-bias option. Active through distribution. State quantity, packing and date-code requirements in your RFQ; we reconfirm the offered lot before quotation and reply within 24 hours.

SELECTION GUIDANCE

4N35 selection guidance

4N35 is a Phototransistor optocoupler from onsemi, orderable in the PDIP-6 package. The ordering code fixes the exact configuration you receive — package, grade and packing — so procurement starts with matching this code character-for-character against your BOM, not just the base series name.

When you request a quote, include the full ordering code, the target packing format (reel, tube, tray or cut tape), your quantity and any date-code or lot requirements. We reconfirm manufacturer, suffix, package, date code and traceability against the actual offered lot before any commercial quote is issued, and every RFQ gets a reply within 24 hours.

COMMON QUESTIONS

4N35 FAQ

What do the suffixes in 4N35 mean?

Every suffix in a manufacturer ordering code identifies one exact orderable device — package, temperature grade, packing format or a revision. 4N35 names the PDIP-6 configuration; a code that differs by even one suffix character may be a different device. Always quote the complete code exactly as it appears on your BOM.

What is the difference between package and packing for 4N35?

The package (PDIP-6) is the physical form of the device itself. Packing describes how the devices are delivered — reel, tube, tray or cut tape. The same ordering code can ship in different packing formats depending on the lot, so confirm the required packing format when you submit your RFQ.

Can you provide traceability documents for 4N35?

Traceability evidence — lot and date-code information, labels and photos — is confirmed per lot at quotation time, because it depends on the actual lot offered. Tell us which documents your receiving inspection requires when you submit the RFQ, and we will confirm what can be provided for the offered lot.

How do I request a quotation for 4N35?

Add 4N35 to your RFQ with the complete ordering code, the manufacturer (onsemi), your quantity, the target packing format and any date-code requirements. We reply to every RFQ within 24 hours.
