NRF52840-QFAA-F-R7
Nordic SemiconductorNRF52840-QFAA-F-R7 is the Nordic nRF52840 multiprotocol SoC in the QF package variant — 6 x 6 mm QFN-48 — with the AA-F function variant (1024 KB flash, 256 KB RAM, access port protection controlled by hardware and software), supplied on 7-inch reel. Its advantage is the nRF52840 radio feature set in the most hand-solderable and widely second-sourced package: Bluetooth 5.4 LE with 2 Mbps, long range and advertising extensions, plus Thread/Zigbee/802.15.4, on an Arm Cortex-M4F with generous flash for Matter and Bluetooth mesh stacks. The package limits are real, though: the QFN-48 does not support USB (the USBD peripheral is not bonded out in this package), it exposes fewer GPIOs than the aQFN-73, and VDD and VDDH are shorted inside the package, so only normal-voltage supply mode is available (Nordic Product Specification, pin assignment). Selection advice: the QF (QFN-48) suits cost-optimized boards and easier rework versus the 73-ball aQFN or the 94-ball WLCSP; the F-R7 suffix means 7-inch reel — confirm reel size and MOQ with your CM, and use the CKAA-F-R7 only when the 3.5 x 3.6 mm WLCSP footprint is mandatory.
