ESP32-S31NRV16
Espressif SystemsESP32-S31NRV16 is an Espressif wireless SoC — a dual-core 32-bit RISC-V processor at up to 320 MHz plus a low-power RISC-V coprocessor, 512 KB SRAM and 16 MB in-package PSRAM, with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 (LE and Classic), IEEE 802.15.4 (Thread 1.4 / Zigbee 3.0) and a Gigabit Ethernet MAC, in a QFN80 (8 × 8 mm) package — for smart-home hubs, edge-AI devices and multimedia IoT. The connectivity set is the selection point: Wi-Fi 6, dual-mode Bluetooth, 802.15.4 and wired Ethernet in one chip, where the ESP32-S3 stops at Wi-Fi 4 with no Ethernet MAC. Selection advice: the NRV16 code denotes the normal-temperature grade (-40 to +85 °C) with 16 MB in-package PSRAM — the NRV32 variant doubles the PSRAM to 32 MB; the chip carries no in-package flash, so budget an external SPI flash. This is the bare SoC, not a WROOM module or a development board. Supply-stage note: Espressif announced mass production on 27 July 2026, but the series datasheet is still a pre-release (preliminary) v0.5 document and ESP-IDF support sits on the master branch (v6.1 and later) — re-verify electrical parameters against the current datasheet revision before design freeze. Parameters verified against the Espressif ESP32-S31 series datasheet (Pre-release v0.5, Table 1-1).
