CA-IS3092W

Chipanalog

The CA-IS3092W is an isolated half-duplex RS-485 transceiver from Chipanalog with an integrated isolated DC-DC converter, in a wide-body SOIC-16. The barrier is rated at 5,000 VRMS with CMTI up to 150 kV/us, the bus runs at up to 500 kbps with 1/8-unit-load inputs for up to 256 nodes and +/-20 kV HBM bus-pin protection, and the built-in converter delivers up to 0.5 W of isolated power, pin-selectable between 5.0 V and 3.3 V. That integration is what separates it from the CA-IS3082WX: the 3082 isolates the signal path and still needs an external isolated supply for the bus side, while the 3092 generates that power on-chip, shrinking the isolated port to one device in drives, PLCs and energy equipment. Selection advice: run the device from a single 3.3 V or 5 V logic-side supply and follow the maker's layout guidance for the converter pins to keep emissions in check. Parameters verified against Chipanalog documentation.
