CA-IS3082WX

Chipanalog

The CA-IS3082WX is an isolated half-duplex RS-485 transceiver from Chipanalog in a wide-body SOIC-16. Its capacitive isolation barrier is rated at 5,000 VRMS with typical CMTI of +/-100 kV/us, the bus runs at up to 500 kbps with fail-safe receiver behavior and +/-15 kV bus-pin ESD protection, and up to 256 nodes can share the bus; the logic side accepts 2.5 V to 5.5 V while the bus side takes a separate isolated 4.5 V to 5.5 V feed. Breaking the ground loop at the port protects controllers in photovoltaic inverters, motor drives, factory automation and metering against ground-potential differences and surges. Selection advice: this WX device isolates the signal path only, so budget an isolated supply for the bus side; if board area is at a premium, the sibling CA-IS3092W integrates that isolated power into the same package concept instead. Parameters verified against Chipanalog documentation.
