EFR32BG29B230F1024CM40
Silicon LabsThe EFR32BG29B230F1024CM40 brings the BG29 platform's boost-input option to a solder-friendly 5 mm x 5 mm QFN-40: it runs from a 1.2 V to 1.7 V source, so a single alkaline or rechargeable cell powers the radio directly through the integrated boost DC-DC converter. Inside are the family-standard 76.8 MHz Arm Cortex-M33, 1024 KB of flash and 256 KB of RAM, with Bluetooth 5.4 including LE Long Range and 2M PHY and Secure Vault High protection. This code transmits at up to +6 dBm — between the WLCSP B220's +4 dBm and the buck B140's +8 dBm — and provides 25 GPIOs, with an operating range of -20 °C to +55 °C. The converter's coulomb counter reports battery charge usage, helping firmware estimate remaining life in remote controls, beacons and battery sensors. Selection note: pick the B230 when you need single-cell operation but want QFN assembly and more GPIO and range than the WLCSP code offers; if the design has a regulated 1.8 V to 3.8 V rail or needs -40 °C operation, the buck-input B140 is the correct sibling. Parameters verified against Silicon Labs documentation.
